Create Weekly Menu 👨🍳
This is the command center for all cooks and kitchen managers! Here you plan what's on the menu for the entire week. Imagine you're a DJ, but instead of music, you're spinning dishes.
What Do You Do Here?
As a cook or kitchen manager, you create the meal plan for the entire week. It's like a puzzle: you have many different dishes and need to cleverly distribute them across the weekdays.
The Drag & Drop Magic ✨
How It Works
- On the right, you see all dishes: That's your pantry – all the dishes you can cook
- On the left is the weekly plan: Here you drag the dishes in (takes up most of the screen)
- Simply drag and drop: Click on a dish on the right, hold the mouse button, drag it to the left onto a day, and release
It's like Tetris, but with food!
The Weekly Structure
For each day you can plan:
- Main Dishes: Usually 2-3 different options
- Soups: A delicious starter
- Desserts: The sweet finish
Smart Assistance
Automatic Warnings
The system is like a smart assistant and warns you when:
- You have the same main dish twice on the same day (Oops!)
- A slot is already full (not too many options!)
- Important information is missing
Filter Dishes
Too many dishes in the list? No problem!
- Filter by category: Only meat, only vegetarian, only desserts
- Use search: Type "schnitzel" and find all schnitzel variations
- By diet type: Show only vegan or gluten-free dishes
The Workflow
1. Select Week
First choose which week you're planning for. You can also plan several weeks in advance – like a chess grandmaster thinking three moves ahead!
2. Distribute Dishes
Now comes the creative part:
- Monday: Maybe something light after the weekend?
- Wednesday: Mid-week needs something special!
- Friday: Before the weekend, something festive is allowed
3. Keep Balance
Make sure it's varied:
- Not meat every day
- Sometimes light, sometimes hearty
- Mix different cuisines
4. Save and Publish
When everything is perfect:
- Save: Your work is secured
- Publish: Now all employees see the menu and can choose
Pro Tips 🎯
Use Popular Dishes Strategically
You know the schnitzel is always a hit? Use it strategically! Maybe on Wednesday when everyone needs a motivation boost.
Seasonal Dishes
Light salads in summer, hearty stews in winter – makes sense and tastes better!
Vegetarian Options
Always offer at least one vegetarian option per day. Many people eat less meat, and that's a good thing!
Avoid Common Mistakes
❌ Too Many Options
More than 3 main dishes per day? That gets chaotic in the kitchen!
❌ Too Similar Dishes
Pasta with tomato sauce AND pizza on the same day? That's too much Italy at once!
❌ Forget Deadline
Remember: The menu must be ready on time so people can choose!
Copy Week
Reuse Menu
You've planned a great week? Simply copy it to another week!
How to:
- Click "Copy Week"
- Select target week
- Done! All dishes are transferred
When Is This Practical?
- Recurring Menus: Same rotation every 4 weeks
- Seasonal Menus: Repeat successful weeks
- Time Savings: Don't start from scratch every week
The Result
When you're done, all employees have:
- A clear overview of the week
- Delicious options to choose from
- No nasty surprises
And you as a cook know exactly:
- What you need to buy
- How much you need to prepare
- That everyone will be satisfied
Happy Planning! 🎉
